Press Release: Greg McKeown Tabbed As P2 ASCEND Keynote Speaker

Author and CEO will speak on “essentialism” at P2’s largest customer community event in November

DENVER, CO – (Oct. 13, 2014) – P2 Energy Solutions (P2) is pleased to announce that Greg McKeown, author of The New York Times bestseller “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” and chief executive of leadership training company THIS Inc., will be the featured keynote speaker at P2 ASCEND.

P2 ASCEND, P2’s largest customer community event, will take place Nov. 17-19 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The annual event brings together hundreds of upstream oil and gas professionals for product sessions, training seminars and collaboration.

McKeown’s presentation will draw from ideas and strategies put forward in his book, which speaks to the importance of devoting one’s time and energy only to what is essential and eliminating what is not. The THIS, Inc., CEO will also share some of his experiences training teams from such companies as Apple, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Pixar, LinkedIn and Salesforce.com.

A native of London and a graduate of Brigham Young University (BA in communications) and Stanford University (MBA), McKeown has spoken to audiences around the world. This year he interviewed Al Gore at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, and received a personal invitation from Haakon, heir apparent to the Throne of Norway, to speak at his Annual Innovation Conference.

The upcoming P2 ASCEND is expected to be the largest one to date as more than 500 oil and gas professionals have already registered to attend. More than a dozen sponsors, including Premier Sponsor Rolta and Platinum Sponsor Opportune, will also be in attendance.
