Six Tuscaloosa Marine Shale Parishes Added to Tobin Data's Lease Activity Product

09/09/2013

P2 Energy Solutions’ Tobin Data solution has added six parishes within the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale to its Lease Activity product, furthering P2’s commitment to providing the most accurate and current leasing information to upstream oil and gas companies.

The Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS), which stretches across central Louisiana and extends into Mississippi, is seeing a lot of renewed interest from operators as test wells continue to surpass expectations. Just last month, a joint-venture test well set a TMS record when it produced an average of 1,540 barrels of oil equivalent a day. Adding to these solid results, the geological structure of the play closely resembles the Eagle Ford Shale, a big producer in south Texas on which many operators have converged.

The newly added Lease Activity data allows companies to see online who owns which leases, who issued those leases, when those leases are set to expire and more. This information enables producers to make quicker and smarter leasing decisions.

Here are the parishes that are now included in the Lease Activity product:

  • East Feliciana
  • West Feliciana
  • Natchitoches
  • St. Helena
  • Tangipahoa
  • Washington

There are more areas to come, too. In the coming months, companies will have access to leasing information in these Louisiana parishes and Mississippi counties: La Salle Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Amite County and Wilkinson County.

So stay tuned!
