Data Quality

Tobin is committed to data quality. We view this as a critical differentiator in what we offer versus other data products. The value of all of our data is in our ability to continuously upgrade and maintain data at the highest quality. No other data provider offers its clients data upgrades, ongoing maintenance, full-time personal customer support.


  • Tobin works directly with our customers to resolve data issues.
  • Tobin works directly with the appropriate governmental agencies (TX GLO, U.S.G.S, etc.) that are responsible for the mapping and/or surveying of the source data. This ensures the Landgrid and Survey data is in sync with each of the specific agency's data, and is correct from a mapping standpoint.
  • Tobin works with official land surveyors to ensure that whatever changes we make are appropriate on the land, and meet surveying standards.
  • Tobin collects, translates (in the case of some old Spanish land grants) and maintains data source documentation from governmental agencies and various courthouse records across the country to support the changes and edits made.
  • Tobin has a technical team specifically dedicated to improving the data through enhanced production processes, programmatic solutions, database architecture and construction, spatial tool maintenance and the establishment and oversight of QA/QC standards and practices. These enhanced technological upgrades provide clients the technological advantages they need in their business.
  • Tobin researches all client issues to ensure that we provide the correct data solutions to their issues. Our Landgrid and Survey Research Group is composed of individuals who collectively have over 75 years of experience.
  • Tobin has full-time customer support individuals who respond to individual client issues, questions, and coordinate resolutions.
  • Tobin hosts two user group conferences a year to identify client issues, directions and needs. User group conferences provide the opportunity to:
    • Learn what Tobin is doing to improve data
    • Provide direct feedback on global issues
    • Learn and understand the technological direction for data and its impact on client operations
    • Discover what other customers are experiencing individually
    • Participate in a forum to raise critical issues
    • Discover best practices as identified by P2 Energy Solutions and our customers
    • Learn about other products produced by P2 Energy Solutions

To ensure data integrity and dependability, Tobin has established and applied rigorous data standards to all data products.
