Additional Landgrid Map Data Products
Tobin also offers additional Landgrid data that provides sub-survey/sub-section level of geodetically enhanced Landgrid boundaries. License these products individually or in conjunction with the data layers.
Quarter-Quarter/Lots and Tracts
Tobin SuperBase® Lots and Tracts is a quarter-quarter and lots-tracts data layer for the Public Land Survey System (PLSS). This layer cuts and subdivides the PLSS as depicted by SuperBase® into a sub-section level of grid. The product is based on the SuperBase® Landgrid and Survey Data is initially separated into two layers of data:
- The Quarter-Quarter layer takes a PLSS section and quarters it into approximate 160-acre sections, and further quarters that result into approximate 40-acre quarter-quarter sections as well as standard lots.
- The Lots-Tracts layer includes non-standard lots and tracts. This layer also includes any lots and tracts created by grants or surveys. The Lots-Tracts layer is set up to emulate the lots and tracts found in the BLM data.
Coverage
Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming
Data Creation
Tobin utilizes its previously defined data hierarchy and invokes national mapping data standards to homogenize the data into a consistent and structured dataset across the entire region where this data exists. Tobin also verifies and rectifies the data on a case-by-case basis to existing shelf orthophotography and any additional orthophotography and/or satellite imagery that becomes available now or in the future.
Texas Rural Subdivisions
A "rural subdivision" refers to a large ranch or parcel of land consisting of undeveloped real estate, or land that has been subdivided into smaller tracts. Thes are usually intended for residential development and are outside the limits of any incorporated or unincorporated city or town.
P2 took the rural subdivision data from the Texas Railroad Commission (TRRC) and improved it for querying and cartographic mapping. Subdivision outlines have been created from lot, labor, subdivision and hydrographic lines from the TRRC and adjusted it to conform to Tobin SuperBase base maps. this involved:
- Closing all polygons
- Removing duplication
- Clipping at Tobin County Line boundaries
- Including Tobin Historical Subdivisions where TRRC was missing information
- Including attributes from both data sets to improve querying capabilities
Attributes were captured from both the TRRC data set and Tobin's Historical 1"=3,000' hardcopy maps.
