Gas Balancing

The Excalibur Gas Balancing integrated system calculates well level volume imbalances (over and under) for each working interest owner. The volume comparison is between entitlement interest and marketing interest. This system uses highly integrated data from the Land Division Orders and Gas Accounting systems to both prevent duplication of data entry and to keep data integrity among the multiple systems. There are several reporting and printing features including e-mail and data transmission to 3rd party Web sites for partner access.


Controls and Features

  • Reports volumes by owner in both MCF and MMBTU
  • Uses volumes from the Gas Accounting systems
  • Tracks marketing and entitlement interest by sale date. The same marketing interests used to generate divisions of interest are used to calculate gas imbalances.
  • Adjustments entered into the Gas Accounting system are automatically used in balancing calculations
  • Produces gas balancing statements by well for each owner, sorted by owner
  • Tracks, calculates and reports accumulated over and under balances by month and by inception-to-date
  • Variance report for comparison of sales volumes used to calculate balancing statement versus sales volumes in Energy Production system
  • Option to use working interest owner entitlement changes from land division order mass change process to Gas Balancing
  • Automated feature to create statements when wells are shut-in with no production
  • Standard Transporter system available to automatically e-mail balancing statement and/or owner summary reports to working interest owners
  • Automated feature to upload balancing information to Oildex and PDS Web sites for partners to retrieve their data
  • Print statement options include divider page suitable for window envelopes or folding and mailing, using mail to addresses
  • Option to have remarks on statements by well and by effective date
  • Interfaces with Gas Availability system for nominations and analysis
  • Stores price and volume data by owner and sales month for cash-out reporting (using ADHOC)
  • Additional summary report of balances by owner in either print (hard copy), e-mail or text file version for download options (Excel)
