Enterprise Upstream's Electronic Data Validation (EDV) is a remote desktop application that is used to download, validate, correct and approve SCADA data collected by OPC-compliant oilfield automation systems (IP historians and OPC servers) prior to publishing the data to the Enterprise Upstream Production Management application. Operators enjoy significant cost savings by improving quality of production data as close as possible to the source of that data. The remote desktop architecture of EDV provides a separate Oracle database environment for users whose physical location does not provide the necessary communication bandwidth for connection to a centralized application and data server.
