President and CEO
Bret Bolin joined P2 Energy Solutions in August 2008 as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to P2, Mr. Bolin was the chief financial officer of Ventyx Inc, a leading global provider of software, data and consulting solutions to the utility, energy and telecommunications industries. Mr. Bolin joined the Ventyx team as chief financial officer of MDSI Mobile Data Solutions, based in Vancouver, Canada in late 2005, and provided strategic leadership and support during the 2007 merger between MDSI and Indus International, as well as the future acquisitions and integration of Global Energy Decisions, New Energy Associates and Tech-Assist. After the four 2007 transactions, Ventyx had approximately 1,200 employees with offices in 10 countries. Immediately prior to Ventyx, Mr. Bolin was based in Houston where he was a senior director at Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting. From 1996 to 2004, Mr. Bolin was a member of the founding management team of SourceNet Solutions, Inc., serving in a variety of roles including chief operating officer, chief financial officer and general manager of the company's European operations. Earlier in his career, Bolin was a leader in Andersen's Business Consulting practice, where he focused on performance measurement and finance business solutions. Mr. Bolin earned a bachelor of business administration in finance from Texas Tech University and has previously been designated as a certified public accountant in the state of Texas.
Chief Technology Officer
David Verdun serves as chief technology officer. Mr. Verdun comes to P2 Energy Solutions with more than 28 years of experience linking people and technology to create compelling solutions for upstream oil and gas companies.Prior to joining P2 Energy Solutions, Mr. Verdun was executive vice president, R&D and technical support for Paradigm B.V. leading a multi-year technology evolution of their product portfolio. Prior to that, Verdun served as senior vice president for GX Technology Corp,; and executive vice president, R&D for Landmark Graphics Corp., a subsidiary of Halliburton.
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew Hicks joined P2 in November 2009 as Chief Financial Officer. In this role he leads the finance and administrative functions and provides broad operational leadership as the company executes on its business strategy. Prior to P2, Mr. Hicks held various senior level commercial finance positions with Misys PLC a global software and services company. Most recently he played a key role in the $2bln merger and subsequent integration of Misys' Healthcare Division with Allscripts, a Nasdaq-listed company. Mr. Hicks is a Chartered Accountant in the United Kingdom and has a BA degree from the University of York, England.
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Rick Rivich has responsibility for leading the sales and marketing organization, with a focus on software and data products sales. With experience in managing large complex sales, Mr. Rivich introduced a strategic selling model to P2 Energy Solutions in 2005 that has proven very successful. Prior to joining P2 Energy Solutions, Mr. Rivich was vice president of SunGard Energy Systems, where he managed the energy sales and marketing teams. Mr. Rivich also has experience building and managing successful sales organizations as a vice president with Computer Associates and Automatic Data Processing (ADP), Mr. Rivich has a bachelor of science in business management from Louisiana Tech University.
Senior Vice President, Canadian Software Operations
Peter Huggard has a deep understanding of the problems facing the global upstream oil and gas industry and the business solutions needed to address those problems. Mr. Huggard recently led the P2 Energy Solutions software product strategy initiative, providing vision and discernment in developing a consensus strategy with other key managers on future product direction. Mr. Huggard holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of New Brunswick, and is a certified management consultant and chartered accountant. He founded and led Coopers & Lybrand Consulting Group’s Canadian Petroleum Practice and has worked as a consultant in North America, Europe and South East Asia. Mr. Huggard has spoken at petroleum industry conferences in Calgary, Houston, Bangkok and Manila.
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Audrey Rogers has over 20 years of experience in the field of human resources in both traditional and start-up companies. She has served in human resource management positions for several international corporations in the high tech and food industries including Level 3 Communications, Inc. and ConAgra Foods, Inc., Ms. Roger's experience encompasses the development and implementation of all aspects of HR within organizations including strategic planning, benefits, compensation, employee retention programs, employee relations, recruitment, organizational development, training, employment and human resource systems. Ms. Rogers holds a bachelor of arts in sociology and psychology from Hastings College. She has been certified as a senior professional in human resources through the national Human Resources Certification Institute. She has served on the board of trustees for Hastings College and is a director for several other Boards. She also serves as secretary and director for Petroleum Place, Inc. and P2ES Holdings, Inc.
Vice President, Sales Operations
Eric Thurston joined P2 Energy Solutions in April 2009 as Vice President Sales Operations. In this newly created position, Mr. Thurston is responsible to further grow P2 Energy Solutions’ market share in the upstream oil & gas industry through innovative go-to-market strategies aligning the company’s broad product suite to the constantly evolving E&P marketplace. Mr. Thurston comes to P2 Energy Solutions with 20 years of experience in the oil and gas, chemical and mining and technology industries. He was most recently employed with SAP Americas as its senior director of oil and gas, crafting successful sales and marketing strategies that led to dramatic increases in license revenues. Prior to that Mr. Thurston held several strategic roles at Oracle Corporation and also worked for Shell Oil Co. as an engineer right out of college.
Senior Vice President, Data Products and Services
Tom Neubert has over 20 years of experience in energy related data management. Mr. Neubert has been chief financial officer and chief operating officer of several energy data companies including SoftSearch Inc. and Tobin Data Graphics, the predecessor company to Tobin International. Mr. Neubert received his bachelor of business administration from St. Bonaventure University while studying a combined program of accounting and business management and he is a graduate of General Electric Company's Financial Management Program.
Vice President, Global Customer Support and Hosting
Bruce MacDonald has more than 25 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry with major focus on sales, consulting, client services, corporate development, IT management and hosting services. From 1989-2006 he served as vice president of P2 Energy Solutions Alberta (formerly Qbyte). Mr. MacDonald has a Bachelors of Commerce, with a major in accounting from the University of Calgary and a professional accounting designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
Sr. Vice President, MidCap Industry Solutions
Jerry Rugg has 29 years experience with various privately held oil and gas companies serving as Controller for 20 years prior to joining P2 Energy Solutions. Mr. Rugg serves as Senior Vice President responsible for P2 Energy Solutions’ Excalibur-based oil and gas accounting and land administration outsourcing business located in Fort Worth, Texas. Additionally, he has oversight responsibility for the Excalibur services group and other commercial and business relationships as they relate to the Excalibur software product and customers. Most recently, Mr. Rugg has taken on the role of Mid-Cap Industry Solutions Executive for P2 Energy Solutions, with focus on providing insight and leadership to the company's activities in the mid-cap E&P space. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society, and is a past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society.
Vice President, Enterprise Product Management
Gerry Conroy has over 25 years of oil and gas industry experience and has held positions in engineering, finance, technical sales and product management. From 2004 through 2007, Mr. Conroy was director of business systems for Western Gas Resources and led software selection, development and implementation efforts for E&P business operations. From 2000 through 2004, Mr. Conroy was vice president of product management for TransZap (Oildex), leading product strategy, product management, and implementation of a workflow software solution. Prior to this, Mr. Conroy worked for Santa Fe Snyder, Conoco and Halliburton Energy Services. Mr. Conroy holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and a master of business administration (finance) from Carnegie Mellon University.
